About Tambola Pro
Tambola Pro is a free way to play Tambola, also called Housie, with family and friends. One person calls the numbers and everyone marks their own ticket, on their own phone, from wherever they are.
What this site is
The site has two parts. The first is the game itself, which runs in the browser at tambolapro.com/play and as an Android app. The second is a set of plain-language guides: how to play, the rules and prizes, number calls, hosting a game, and a free printable tickets generator for groups that prefer paper.
Who it is for
Tambola Pro is made for families and groups: a weekly family game across cities, a housing society evening, a kitty party, a senior citizens' club. It is designed for players aged 50 and above. That is why the numbers and buttons are large, every number is read aloud, and the Settings offer bigger text and a High Contrast mode. Younger players are welcome too. They usually end up helping with the snacks.
How it is paid for
Playing is free for hosts and for players. The site and the app show a small advertisement, and that is what pays for running the service.
What it does not do
- No accounts. There is no login, no password and no profile. You join a game with a short code or a link.
- No real-money play. Tambola Pro is meant for social play, with token prizes such as sweets or small gifts that your group arranges for itself. Groups should follow the rules that apply where they live.
- It does not decide winners. When someone claims a prize, the host checks the ticket against the History board, the same way it has always been done at the table.
